Laptop Appraisal - How much do you think this would sell for?
I'm looking to sell my laptop on Ebay but I am unsure or what a fair price would be so I'm hoping to get a few opinions on what you guys think it would be worth. Here are the details.
15.4" WXGA (1280x800) "Color Shine" LCD w/ATi RADEON X1600 w/up to 512MB
Intel® Core™2 Duo T7200 2.0GHz Processor w/4M L2 On-die cache - 667MHz FSB
1,024MB (1 SODIMM) * CORSAIR * DDR2/667 Memory
100GB SATA/150 Hard Drive at 7,200 RPM
Combo 8X DVD/24x10x24 CD-RW (just installed a few months ago)
Built-in Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/b/g
Smart Li-ion Battery (8-Cell) (recently purchased)
Includes a free 32 bit Window's Vista Business upgrade CD
Includes laptop sleeve
Includes Laptop carrying case with handle
Any info is appreciated!
Hmm... I wonder why you obviously left out the make and model of your laptop. You do realize that a Toshiba with the same specifications as an HP, will command a different price... right?
First off, from my searches, Asus seems to be the predominant manufacturer advertising screens with "color shine" LCD panels. The fact that it includes a Vista Business upgrade CD, means that this laptop either came with XP, or it came with Vista Basic... (possibly premium, but I dunno)... which would make this laptop about 3 to 4 years old. Probably an Asus F3 series, like an F3JP which had a 15.4 inch screen, and a T7200 processor.
There are none being sold on Ebay right now... but the specs on that laptop are about equal to (if not a bit less) than a $400 to $500 laptop you can buy now brand new at Best Buy.
Let's compare for a moment...
Toshiba L505 to Asus F3
Toshiba 2.2ghz dual core, Asus 2.0 Dual Core.
Toshiba 3gb Ram, Asus 1gb Ram.
Toshiba 320gb hard drive, Asus 100gb hard drive.
Toshiba, brand new with warranty, Asus 4 years old, no warranty
everything else is comparable.
Toshiba $431 (bought it a month ago), Asus ???
So, you can ask for $400, but you should expect about $250. It's still a good laptop, but it's got some miles on it. The hard drive is going to have to be replaced soon, and it needs a RAM upgrade.
