Is faster RAM latency speed worth the money?

I am wanting to purchase more memory for an old Dell PC. The available RDRAM Rambus memory is either PC800-40 or PC-800 45. If the price is as much as $75/GB more, is it work the extra money for the 5 ns difference?
Great answers! This Dimension 8200 is a 2002 model. With 758MB memory, it performs amazingly fast. I do a lot of rendering. Want to replace 2 128's with 2 512's. Hard to find low price memory - sells for over $400/GB new. I will look for used memory.

Not likely. I don't remember enough about Rambus to tell you if it has to match, but its likely you're going to be waiting on much more than that memory using that machine that you won't notice the difference.
