Improving Your Memory With 3 Fun Strategies
There are three fun games that you can play daily that actually increase your brains ability. It turns out that simply using your mind in a challenging way is all it takes to strengthen your memory.
If there was such a thing as a brain boosting workout gymnasium, what do you think would be the exercise equipment? If you guessed a big stack of crossword puzzle books then you would be right. Crossword puzzles are a favorite of many for keeping the mind sharp. Just like an apple a day will keep the doctor away, so will a crossword puzzle a day keep memory loss at bay. Do you already do crossword puzzles? If so, then you may consider increasing the difficulty level. Or, go to a bookstore and buy a themed book of crossword puzzles. Be sure to also pay attention to level of difficulty. If you feel like crossword puzzles are too easy, then consider more difficult ones like the one you might find in the New York Times newspaper.
Have you ever studied a foreign language before? If so, then you have already engaged in an activity that is a powerful brain strengthener. It doesn't matter how good you are at learning a language. The benefit to your brain comes regardless how much of the language you master. Remember, it's the act of the brain exercise itself that is important. We are simply trying to keep the brain active. Whether it's a crossword puzzle or studying how to introduce yourself in a new language, it doesn't matter. The benefit comes from the actual activity.
A highly addictive game that can keep your brain fit is sudoku. Sudoku is a numbers puzzle played on a grid. It is highly addictive and many people who play have a hard time putting down the puzzle book. Too bad the physical exercise was not as addictive as brain exercises. If they were, then maybe more of us would be in shape. But when games like sudoku, even if our physical bodies are out of shape, our brains can be in tip top condition.
The principle is simple. Keep your brain active and it will remain active. You should know by now that it doesn't matter what kind of puzzle or game you do or play, it's merely the activity. Find something mentally challenging that you like to do and do it every day. You'll see your mind becomes sharper and sharper.

memory upgrade for an HP?
hi Guys,
I am going to upgrade a family members computer, something I have done a lot of for friends in the past.
The computer is an HP pavilion media center, A1464x which only has 1 gb of memory, which is PCs-4200 533mhz. (2 x 512mb dimms)
On checking the specs for the Motherboard ASUS p5bw, I see that I can install in faster memory.(pc6400 800mhz)
My options are, as I plan to add 2gb,
2x 512mb + 2x 1gb total 3gb of 533mhz memory
or 2x 1gb memory total 2gb 800 mhz.
any thoughts, or advice welcomed,
Thank you in advance
This comp has 4 dimms slots supporting upto 8gb for 64 bit mode. I plan to upgrade the operating system to windows 7 32bit. so it will either be 2 gb of 800mhz or 3 gb of 533mhz memory.
You'll certainly want to remove the existing memory and replace it in the blue slots with the 1GB modules. (For what it's worth, the motherboard manual says you can support up to 2GB modules)
If that system has been upgraded to Vista or Windows 7, I'd definitely put the 512MB modules into the black slots. The benefits of 3GB of memory on those OSs is much more significant than the slowness of the memory.
XP media center (the original OS) is a much tougher call. You could get elaborate and benchmark it with and without the 3GB, but I'd be inclined to add the extra memory there too.
Zotac GeForce GTX 560 Ti packing 448 cores leaks (Slash Gear)
A souped-up GeForce graphics card, the Zotac GeForce GTX 560 Ti, packing a
total of 448 cores rather than the usual 384, has been pictured ahead of its
official release. The image, leaked to Fudzilla, shows box-art for the NVIDIA-
based performance video card, as well as the hardware itself, clad in a
brightly colored cooling system. [...]
