what ram should i buy for my desktop ? ddr or ddr2?
the motherboard is an intel 865nm chipset.i'm new to computers.so please explain the types and which should work best DDR or DDR2?
intel 865 motherboards support only ddr not ddr2. the voltage required is different and you could damage your motherboard if you try to install ddr2. 865 chipset supported ddr 400/333/266. ddr 400 would be your best bet. it's the fastest and probably the cheapest to find. Since its dual channel it performs best when two identical sticks are used. Hope that helps
